Become a Member Institution
INTERESTED IN BECOMING A MEMBER?
Institutions interested in exploring membership in the Spokane Alliance are encouraged to get a feel for the organization by sending a team of leaders to the local Leadership Institutes, participate in the monthly Institutional Leaders Caucus, and/or send key institutional leaders to IAF National or Regional Training.
Information for the dates and times for these meetings and trainings is available on our calendar.
You may contact our office to set up a meeting or request an informational packet.
Membership Benefits Include:
- Local Leadership Institutes for an unlimited number of members in your institution (no fee);
- Tuition for our national 10-day training or regional 6-day training;
- Organizing assistance on issue campaigns and when appropriate, internal organizing strategies;
- Connections with a diverse range of institutions in the area;
- An expanded power base that will engage in major campaign related to a mutually negotiated Agenda for the Common Good;
- Two voting seats on the governing board (Strategy Team).
Dues Calculations
Dues are a percentage of annual income used for the local operating budget. This excludes:
- capital expenditures, such as a building fund;
- pass through collections, money collected on behalf of someone else (school tuition collected at a parish) or on behalf of a national organization (national portion of union dues not used to support local staff or programs);
- portions of the budget used to serve members outside the Alliance coverage area (currently Spokane County);
- special bequests that are not part of ordinary operation.
Membership dues for the Alliance are as follows:

For example, if your institution’s regular annual income is $118, 000; your annual dues would be $1770.
Payment
Dues can be paid annually, quarterly, monthly and can be adjusted to keep dues in line with fluctuating revenue and budgets.
