SustainableWorks Provides Retrofit Assistance at 811 W. 2nd Avenue
Renovation of this 20,000 square foot building began in late summer. The third floor work begins with a new roof and rooftop unit for the heating and cooling needs of a planned Yoga studio. Additional third floor space will be converted to accommodate a residence for one of the owners. The first floor will house Gina’s Design Center. This successful business has outgrown it’s current facility at 1 North Brown. The second floor will be used for leased office space and the basement, (not included in the 20,000 sq.ft.) will be used for storage and parking. An elevator will also be added to the structure.
The street side of the building is being renovated to resemble it’s historic exterior look. Spokane Teachers Credit Union is helping with loans for the energy retrofit work and Avista Utilities is providing energy incentives for the project.
A local business working with local contractors, a local lending institution, and a local utility to improve downtown Spokane while reducing carbon emissions for the community - Win - Win - Win!!
