Phone Banking with Common Ground

Join leaders from the Spokane Alliance to support our sister organization Common Ground in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Common Ground has committed to a non-partisan voter engagement campaign to turnout at least 13,000 people to vote in the November presidential election. Wisconsin could decide the 2020 Presidential race. Turnout in Milwaukee could decide Wisconsin’s results. In 2016, the Presidential race was decided by 22,000 votes. The voter turnout in Milwaukee dropped by about 40,000 votes from the 2012 to the 2016 election.

They have invited us to help with a phone bank to reach out to their members, people in their congregations, schools, and neighborhoods. As we are calling and canvassing for GOTV, we are also looking for new leaders and listening for issues. With this campaign we are increasing participation in the democratic process and we are building our power so we can take on new issue campaigns after November 3.

There will be a brief training before the phone bank starts.

Common Ground (www.commongroundwi.org) is a non-partisan, tri-racial alliance of congregations, schools, nonprofits, small businesses and neighborhood groups with a twelve-year track record of effective, meaningful change in greater Milwaukee. We have built thousands of
trusting relationships, which will be integral to GOTV work during a pandemic.
