Housing for the Public Good: Building a Resilient Spokane

Lessons from Atlanta

As Spokane considers how to rebuild after the Complex Fires—and how to address our broader housing crisis—we have an opportunity to learn from what other communities are trying, ask what could work here, and imagine new ways to build a more affordable, resilient, and connected Spokane.

Come learn how Atlanta, GA, is using innovative public and mixed-income housing strategies to build and preserve more affordable housing. Collin Delargy, Assistant Director of the Housing Innovation Lab, will discuss the tools and approach of Atlanta’s Affordable Housing Strike Force, and what Spokane might learn from Atlanta’s experience.

The visit gives us a chance to learn from that work while bringing together different parts of our own community to think about what is possible here in Spokane.

We are planning a large public event on September 28 at 6PM. Please share this public event widely with your members and encourage turnout. RSVP here.

We are also planning small group roundtables with specific focuses. Contact [email protected] for more details on the roundtable.
